School Outreach to Lycee Technique Privé Emile Metz

The second school to visit on this snowy winter day, was the Lycee Technique Prive Emile Metz.  Here the Ambassador was welcomed into the 100 year old building of the school.  He was shown the meeting room with all of it’s original furniture and magnificent marble fireplace.  The Ambassador met M. Thill and the Assistant Director of the school.  They presented the school’s history and what their goals are in today’s educational environs.  Then the Ambassador was escorted to a classroom where he met with 12 aircraft maintenance apprentices.  The students here were very confident and inquired about the “tough decisions an Ambassador has to make?”, and “does America know Luxembourg?, and to “what would you change in America that is something done and unique in Luxembourg?”  The Ambassador engaged in a very interesting conversation with them.  After this he was shown the workshops and especially the equipment that was made in the school by the students, down to the nuts and bolts.
