Epidemiology Trainings

Dr. Hasmik Harutyunyan, Head of the Epidemiology Department at Yerevan State Medical University, instructs a class on the prevention and control of brucellosis, a common zoonosis in Armenia.

On, November 26-30, 2012, epidemiology experts from the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR) Department of Health Systems together with their Armenian counterparts provided training and advisory support to Armenian epidemiologists on surveillance concepts and conducting outbreak investigations using modern epidemiological techniques. The trainings were sponsored by the United States Defense Threat Reduction Agency as part of its Cooperative Biological Engagement Program's epidemiology training on basic surveillance.
