Note for families or groups applying for visas!
Every person, adult or child, must have their own appointment. We will not accept “add-ons” of family members or travel companions for interviews. Please verify you have a appointment for each member of your family. If only one appointment is left on an earlier date, it is in your best interest to schedule everyone for a later date. We will not expedite appointments for family members unless there is a true urgency for travel. Please note that “going on annual vacation” is not an acceptable reason to be granted an expedited appointment. Remember to plan ahead!
Attention Students!
If you are a returning student applying for a visa to continue studies at the same institution in the same program of study you may be eligible for an interview waiver.
Change in Exchange Rate
Please note that visa application fees, when made in local currency, may vary due to the fluctuating exchange rate. As a result of a recent change in the exchange rate between dollars and CFA, you will notice a slight increase in the fee when paid in CFA. When in doubt, the fee is fixed to the dollar amounts listed below.
Visa Processing Fees to Change on April 13, 2012
Effective April 13, 2012, the Department of State will adjust visa processing fees. The fees for most nonimmigrant visa applications and Border Crossing Cards will increase, while all immigrant visa processing fees will decrease.
The Department is required to recover, as far as possible, the cost of processing visas through the collection of application fees. For a number of reasons, the current fees no longer cover the actual cost of processing nonimmigrant visas. The nonimmigrant visa fee increase will support the addition and expansion of overseas facilities, as well as additional staffing required to meet increased visa demand.
Although most categories of nonimmigrant visa processing fees will increase, the fee for E visas (treaty-traders and treaty-investors) and K visas (for fiancé(e)s of U.S. citizens) will decrease.
