    Established in 2004, SUNY Plattsburgh Institute on Québec Studies, Center for the Study of Canada, became the first broad educational initiative committed to Québec Studies at an American college or university. The Institute seeks to introduce a better appreciation and understanding of modern day Quebec.  

  • CG O’Donohue visits 35th GBC headquarters

    CG Peter O’Donohue visited with Colonel Stephane Tardif, CD, ADC, at 35th Canadian Brigade Group Headquarters in Quebec City. The 35 GBC is the Primary Reserve Infantry Regiment of the Canadian Forces with over 18,000 regular, reservist, Ranger, and civilian personnel based throughout the province of Quebec. 

  • Recovery of Missing U.S. Airmen at Longue-Pointe-de-Mingan

    On July 22, my wife and I – after a twelve hour drive along the North Shore of the St. Lawrence – arrived at Longue-Pointe-de-Mingan, scene of a November 1942 disaster in which an amphibious PBY Catalina with 9 U.S. airmen aboard suffered a catastrophic breach
