How Ashley Rohde got involved with U.S. Geological Survey
I started as a seasonal employee working for my advisor. He knew that I was interested in getting a Master's degree so we talked and worked out a project. I was accepted to a biology program and we started working together. It wasn't until I was already working on my degree when we applied for this program and I was accepted.

Experience
I will always remember the skills I have gained by doing field work. Some of the time it was very difficult work, but it was extremely rewarding. These skills will help me to be a better ecologist and make me appreciate all the hard work that goes into studying natural systems.

Ashley Rohde's accomplishments
By the end of this experience I will have earned a Master's of Science in biology. In addition to this I will contribute to the existing knowledge on my topic by publishing my research in a scientific journal.

Ashley Rohde's next steps
Next I would like to continue my education by pursuing a PhD in biology.
