Welcome to the Naval Medical Center San Diego/Camp Pendleton Blood Donor Center website. As part of the Armed Services Blood Program (ASBP), the official United States military blood program, your donation serves as a vital link to military service members and their families worldwide.
The Naval Medical Center San Diego (NMCSD) Blood Donor Center supports its patients, the ASBP, and Navy Blood Program through donor collections and the shipment and storage of blood components, providing blood and blood components for use by the NMCSD, ASBP, and other Department of Defense (DoD) medical treatment facilities. We currently accept donations from active military, retired military, military dependants, and government employees.
The NMCSD Blood Donor Center collects whole blood, autologous (blood donated for one’s own use), and platelet apheresis donations. Additionally, the donor center performs therapeutic whole blood phlebotomy, and occasionally coordinates the collection of blood specimens for enrollment in the National Blood Marrow Donor Registry.
The NMCSD conducts blood drives throughout San Diego County traveling as far as Camp Pendleton. The monthly blood drives held at Camp Pendleton help support the mission of the NMCSD Blood Donor Center. Since the area covered is so large there are two blood donor recruiters, one that covers San Diego and one that covers Camp Pendleton. To find the recruiter closest to you please, contact us.
