Map of TANZANIA

The community has a local Catholic boarding school in central Tanzania. The school opened in 1995 and has consistently grown to over 400 students, and 21 teachers. The majority of these students come from low income families in the region and are highly motivated and eager to get a good education.

Being computer literate is essential in today's job market and higher education. Presently, the school's teachers have difficulty preparing monthly and terminal exams. Students who are unable to attend a university have problems competing in the job market. Those continuing on to a university have problems competing scholastically. The aim of this project is to create a conducive environment for students to be able to compete in the labour market after their studies.

The project will be implemented March 1, 2013. Project's completion date is June 15, 2013. The community is converting a classroom into a small computer lab. They will remodel the room to accommodate the computers, buy computer desk and chairs, and other needed electrical devices. In order to cover the cost of the computers, this project will need to raise 9,900,000 Tanzanian shillings or $6,226.42 U.S. This small sum will help enable many young Tanzanians to achieve the best possible education and be able to compete in the job market. The community will contribute 3,410,000 TSh which is 25.62% of the total cost of the project.
