Biography

 

 

Master Chief Anderson was born and raised in a small town in Oregon.  He joined the Navy in June 1987 and was shipped off to San Diego, California for Boot Camp and Hospital Corps School.  After attending Field Medical Service School at Camp Pendleton, he transferred to 3D Marine Division and was assigned to 3D Battalion, 12th Marines.  Assigned as Battery Senior Corpsmen for Echo 2/10 and Charlie 1/12 he deployed throughout the Pacific Rim.  In August 1990 he was transferred to Alpha Company, 1st Battalion, 6th Marines for Desert Shield/Desert Storm.  Upon returning he was re-assigned to 4th Battalion, 12th Marines until disbanded.  He assumed the Leading Petty Officer position at 12th Marines Regimental Aid Station and was advanced to HM2.

Returning to the United States, he was assigned as Senior Medical Department Representative, Field and Weapons Training Company, Weapons and Field Training Battalion, Camp Pendleton, California.  He was advanced to Petty Officer First Class, June 1996.

September 1996 he reported to 3D Battalion, 3D Marines and served as the Leading Petty Officer for several sections within the Battalion.  He coached back to back Corpsmen Cup Championship teams during multiple unit deployments.  He attended Instructor School and graduated as the Honor Graduate, June 1999.  Selected for Chief Petty Officer and transferred to Naval School of Health Sciences, San Diego, California, in November 1999, there he earned his Master Training Specialist.

He returned to Hawaii in 2002 and was again assigned to 3D Battalion, 3D Marines, as the Battalion Chief.   His Battalion assumed Battalion Landing Team, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit and deployed throughout the Pacific Rim participating in the Global War on Terror, to include The Philippines, Bali, and East Timor.  Once the Battalion returned to Hawaii and after several smaller deployments he transferred to 1st Battalion, 12th Marines in October 2004.  He served as Battalion Chief for the Battalion and deployed on multiple operations.

Master Chief Anderson transferred to Navy Medical Clinic Hawaii in October 2005 and was assigned as LCPO, Branch Clinic, Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii.  There he was advanced to Senior Chief Petty Officer in May 2006 and was selected as the Command Senior Enlisted Leader, 21st Dental Company, 3D Dental Battalion, 3D MLG.  Master Chief Anderson reported to Navy Medical Center San Diego May 2007 and was assigned as Senior Enlisted Leader, Branch Clinic, Naval Base.  May 2009 he was selected as Master Chief Petty Officer.  He deployed to Afghanistan August 2009 as the Command Master Chief, Role 3 Multinational Medical Unit and Command Master Chief, Task Force Medical South.

Master Chief Anderson reported to 3D Marine Logistics Group as the Command Master Chief, 15 October 2010.  He was selected into the Command Master Chief Program, February 2011 and attended the CMC/COB Course in May of the same year.

Master Chief Anderson is qualified Enlisted Fleet Marine Force Warfare, Enlisted Surface Warfare, Enlisted Aviation Warfare, SCUBA Diver, and Master Training Specialist.  He graduated as Honor Graduate from the Senior Enlisted Academy Non-Resident Course in March 2009.  His personal awards include Bronze Star Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3rd award) and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (4th award).

He is married to the former Julie Czosnyka and has two children, daughter Victoria and son Eric (currently serving in the Navy).
