Hill Thrift Shop Inc. is a private organization that is allowed to operate on Hill Air Force by consent of the base commander. It is a non-profit organization that provides five major services to the base.

VOLUNTEER - We are a place where volunteers can find fun, exciting, and challenging work. With over 50 retirees, active duty spouses, and civilian workers our volunteers donate over 10,000 hours each year. Several of our volunteers have been with the store for over 20 years.

These men and women find friendship and camaraderie with each other and have a great time working at the Hill Thrift Shop. Our volunteers receive many benefits, including first pick of items that come in, daycare pay, lunch, a Christmas Party and a wonderful yearly appreciation luncheon.

DONATE (1) - As a non-profit organization, all profits we make become donation monies that go back out to Hill Air Force Base and surrounding community. Each year we average about $20,000 that we give away. Groups we have given to include the Officers Spouses Club Scholarship Program, Airman & Family Readiness Center, 388th Fighter Wing Recognition, 75th Air Base Wing, Christmas Service Project, Hill AFB Chapel, Junior Enlisted Association, Gerrity Memorial Library, National Military Family Association, HAFB Girl Scouts Troop, ROTC Clearfield, ROTC Northridge, Ronald McDonald House Charities, Boys Scout Troop 55, Cub Scout Troop 55, Logistics Officer Association, Special Olympics, Make A Wish Foundation, Air Force Ball, Birthright, Ogden Rescue Mission, Multiple Sclerosis, and Hillfield Elementary School. We are very proud of the donation service we provide this base.

DONATE (2) - Persons wishing to give items to a good cause can donate them to the Hill Thrift Shop. Items brought in to sell that have not sold become donations, and anything we cannot sell in the store we give to other non-profit charities.

CONSIGN - Military members are constantly moving. Sometimes they are allowed to take all their items with them; sometimes they have to downsize their belongings. We provide a consignment service that any person with a D.O.D. issued ID card can sell the things they no longer want or need while making a little money in the process. Of the neighboring area, we give back the highest monies earned from the sell of their items - 80%! Our consignment desk is open Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

SHOP - Again, with military families coming and going, families expanding, kids growing, and a general need for every day stuff, any person who can make their way to the Hill Thrift Shop can shop here - and best of all TAX FREE. We sell anything from clothes to kitchen supplies to furniture to baby gear, and almost anything else that can be reused. We are open Wednesday & Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Fridays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
