Native Families Moving Ahead: Together We Strengthen Our Nations
What began at the turn of the century as an effort to gain a day of recognition for the significant contributions of this nation’s First Americans led to the designation of the month of November as National American Indian and Alaska Native Heritage Month.
November is now recognized as a time when millions of Americans learn more about the history, achievements, and contemporary lives of American Indians and Alaska Natives. The HHS theme for 2012 is “Native Families Moving Ahead: Together We Strengthen Our Nations”.
