The Frontier Army Museum tells the story of Fort Leavenworth and the Frontier Army with its extensive collection of weapons, uniforms, and equipment. The main exhibit gallery presents the history of the Army west of the Mississippi River from 1804 to 1917. The museum is free and the public is encouraged to visit.

Recently, the museum began a free cell phone-guided tour that gives more detailed information about several of the exhibits. Visitors can use their personal cell phone to call a number, and then a number listed at each exhibit with a blue sign.

Everyday we rely on volunteers and non-profit organizations to help preserve Fort Leavenworth history at the Museum. They operate the Gift and Book Shop, organize events, and donate countless hours. Please visit their websites to keep up-to-date with events or call to volunteer your time:
