Locations

The parent facility for the Miami VA Healthcare System is located on 26 acres in the Miami Civic Center Medical Complex. There are two satellite clinics located in Sunrise and Key West. Also, Miami has Community Based Clinics located in Pembroke Pines, Key Largo, Hollywood, Deerfield Beach, and Homestead. The Miami VAMC has a large community-based Substance Abuse Clinic/Health Care for Homeless Veterans Program which operates five miles away in downtown Miami. Find a facility in South Florida near you.

Waiting Areas and Visiting Hours

For your convenience and safety, we have special waiting areas throughout the facility. Please do not gather in the hallways or at the nurses' stations. We have an open visitation policy, without specific hours. However certain units have special requirements. Please check with nursing staff upon your arrival. Learn more on our Visiting Hours and Policies.

We have volunteers who work in the Intensive Care waiting areas at specific times. Please check in, and give the volunteer the patient's name. If you leave the waiting area at any time, please let the volunteer know, in case we need to contact you.

Security

Miami VA Healthcare System has a Police Service. Our officers provide 24-hour patrols of the facility and parking lots. For general police assistance, please dial 3661. In case of an emergency, dial 3333. Report all suspicious or criminal activity, vehicle accidents, and personal property losses to the VA Police while on the facility grounds as soon as possible.
