U.S. Embassy Advice for Faster Visa Service

February 13, 2013

Late spring and summer are the busiest times of year for travel from Montenegro to the United States. For this reason, U.S. Embassy Podgorica recommends that anyone considering traveling to the U.S. in the coming months schedule their appointment for a visa interview early. Planning as far in advance of travel as possible will allow for faster visa processing and help avoid travel delays. Take advantage of the current low demand for visa appointments and apply before the summer visa rush!

Additionally, to minimize wait times for visa applicants on the day of interview, please note the following security procedure change:

SAFETY INSPECTION FOR ADMISSION TO THE EMBASSY—

NEW REGULATIONS EFFECTIVE FEBRUARY 20, 2013

The following items are prohibited and cannot be brought into the Embassy. The Embassy does not have space to store them during the interview, so plan accordingly.

Please bring only what is absolutely necessary for your interview. DO NOT BRING:

1 - Bags, briefcases

2 - Cell phones and Electronic gadgets

3 - Cigarettes, cigars, matches, lighters

4 - Cosmetics

5 - Liquids

6 - Weapons and other dangerous items

Help us facilitate your entry by bringing only the necessary documentation for your appointment plus house/car keys, in your hands.  Applicants who bring any of the prohibited items may face delays in security processing and may have to reschedule their visa appointments. Thank you very much for your cooperation.
