Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA)

 

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) Motor Carrier Safety Advisory Committee (MCSAC) was established under the auspices of the Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA) of 1972, Public Law 92-463, http://www.gsa.gov/faca. Per FACA requirements, the charter of the MCSAC was approved by the Secretary of Transportation and filed with the General Services Administration's Committee Secretariat, the appropriate Congressional committees, and the Library of Congress.

The Designated Federal Officer (DFO) for this advisory committee and its subcommittees is the FMCSA Associate Administrator, Policy and Program Development, or his or her designee. The Committee sponsor is the Director, Office of Policy Plans and Regulations, or his or her designee. The Strategic Planning and Program Evaluation Division will furnish support for the operation of the MCSAC. The DFO will designate a facilitator for the MCSAC.
