Black History Month Celebrated with Book Launch.

Polish edition of The Conquest: the Story of a Negro Pioneer by Oscar Micheaux will mark the opening of Afro-America, the 3rd Black History Month film series at the CSW Zamek Ujazdowski Kino Lab. http://www.kinolab.art.pl/.







The festival (http://afryka.org/afroameryka2013/) will officially open on Feb. 20, 2013 with screening of Within Our Gates Oscar Micheaux’s famous silent movie. The U.S. Embassy is partnering again with Kino Lab and the Afryka Inaczej Foundation http://www.fundacja.afryka.org/ in this project. 

All screenings will take place at CSW Kino Lab and will be preceded by short introductory remarks by various experts. Entrance free.

The film show will then travel to Kino PAUZA in Krakow.
