To coincide with World Entrepreneurship Week,  on November 15, Ambassador David Thorne participated in a Young Entrepreneurs Forum hosted by Consul General Donald Moore for a select group of 25 Campania-based entrepreneurs, researches and venture capitalists, most of them under the age of forty.  Ambassador Thorne highlighted the commitment of the U.S. Mission in Italy to fostering innovation, entrepreneurship and technology transfer, especially in the digital economy and biosciences, and noted the second edition of the Embassy-organized Digital Economy Forum in Venice next May as an example.  In addition, success stories were illustrated by young women and men who have created technology based businesses from their research and ideas. 

On the same day, the Ambassador paid official calls to local Italian authorities and to officials at the U.S. Navy base in Capodichino.
