    Naples, November 15, 2011 -- The Honorable David Thorne, U.S. Ambassador to Italy, visited senior leadership at the U.S. 6th Fleet headquarters on the Naval Support Activity in Naples, Italy, Nov. 15. Upon his arrival, Thorne received official honors from the U.S. 6th Fleet staff honor guard and was greeted by Vice Adm. Frank C. Pandolfe, commander, U.S. 6th Fleet.

As a commemoration and sign of solidarity, the City of Pompei held a ceremony in the name of the nearly three thousand men, women and children who died in the tragic attacks to the Twin Towers in New York.
