State Department Special Advisor for International Disability Rights Judith E. Heumann answers questions on her function in the U.S. State Department and talks about her visit to Germany.

During her four-day visit to Germany, Special Advisor Heumann met with high-level government officials and civil society groups to share U.S. experience in promoting and protecting the rights of persons with disabilities, explore opportunities for collaboration, and promote international implementation of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CPRD). Special Advisor Heumann visited the Berliner Zentrum fuer Selbstbestimmtes Leben Behinderter Menschen BZSL e.V., the Interessenvertretung Selbstbestimmt Leben in Deutschland e.V. (ISL), and the Deutscher Behindertenrat.
