Important Information for Social Security Employees
If you are a Social Security employee and live in the Boston, New York or Philadelphia Regions and have been affected by Hurricane Sandy, there are circumstances under which you may receive special allowances for travel and subsistence. If you live in an area that has been evacuated as a result of the hurricane, or if your home is uninhabitable, please call 1-866-772-2996.
We will staff the telephones from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Someone will answer the telephone and advise you of whether you meet the criteria and what we can do to support you during this difficult time.

If you do not have a bank account, you can sign up for the Direct Express® card program. With Direct Express®, deposits from federal payments are made directly to the card account.
