Inquiries regarding U.S. visas

U.S. Consulates in Australia introduced a new free visa information call centre and website. 

The new service provides applicants with:

  • Free visa information online
  • Free call centre support by phone and online chat
  • Free visa appointment scheduling
  • Free delivery services
  • More options for application fee payment: by credit card online or in person at Australia Post

The new visa information and appointment scheduling website is http://www.ustraveldocs.com.

The National call centre number is 1300-145-166 in Australia and 1-646-2590526 in the U.S.

The call centre provides applicants with free visa information and assistance with delivery tracking and appointment scheduling; however, operators are not able to assist with ESTA applications or questions.

Passports and American Citizen Services

8:30am - 11:30am Monday to Thursday (Except U.S. and Western Australian public holidays). Entry into the Consular Section for non-emergency services is by appointment only. You may schedule an appointment via our website. Please refer to American Citizen Services.

Visa applicants must book an interview appointment on the VisaPoint website. Please see the nonimmigrant visa pages for more details on how to apply.

Immigrant visa interviews

If you require a visa, please visit http://www.ustraveldocs.com to 1) fill out the nonimmigrant visa electronic application (DS-160) form, 2) pay the application fee (schedule of fees), and 3) schedule an appointment for a nonimmigrant visa interview.

Access to the U.S. Consulate Perth

  • For the safety of all of our customers and staff, all visitors to the Consulate must pass through security screening at our reception area on Level 4 before entering the Consulate. Please allow time for screening before your appointment. We appreciate your patience and cooperation.

    Please be advised that the appointment time is a guide as to when you should plan to be at the Consulate. It is not necessarily the time you will be seen by the Consular Officer. Applicants should plan to spend at least an hour at the Consulate.

    Please do not bring luggage, including backpacks, to your appointment. You will not be able to bring these items into the Consulate, and there is no storage available in our office.

    Mobile telephones and other telecommunication devices, electronic recording devices, and cameras may not be taken into the Consulate. Please turn them off, and leave them with the guards at the Level 4 reception area. They can be collected after your appointment.

    Aerosols of any kind are prohibited, and must be left with the guards on Level 4 until after your appointment.

    Any type of headwear, including baseball caps, must be removed while in the Consulate.
