Press and Media Office
 

Two press assistants work in the Press and Media office. Under the supervision of the Public Affairs Officer, they initiate and maintain personal contact with media executives, editors, senior staffers and working-level journalists, as well as with key Press and Information Ministry officials. The Press and Media office is responsible for the placement of post’s print and audio-visual materials and policy statements in local media and maintains records of the successful placement of articles. The press assistants’ responsibilities also include arranging press conferences for the Ambassador and top U.S. Government officials, ensuring media attendance, preparing and disseminating press releases to both local and foreign press, monitoring all local media on a daily basis, drafting media reaction cables, and assisting in updating and maintaining the mission’s Internet web pages on a daily basis.
