The Marine Mammal Commission's On-line Survey of Federally Funded Marine Mammal Research and Conservation

A number of federal departments and agencies conduct or support research on marine mammals and their habitats. As part of its duties under the Marine Mammal Protection Act, the Marine Mammal Commission is requesting information from these departments and agencies to determine the nature of the research and assess ways in which it can best be coordinated to further marine mammal conservation. The Commission currently is collecting information on projects funded during Fiscal Years 2010 and/or 2011.

The Commission developed an online survey that allows federal researchers and project managers to enter information directly into the Commission's database, facilitating data analysis. The Commission will compile reports summarizing the data for each fiscal year and make the reports available on its Web site.
