Many teachers count down to the 100th day the students have been in class and use that day to celebrate the number 100!
The teachers address standards and integrate the number 100 into their lessons for the day. Each school expresses learning about the number 100 in very creative ways.
There are parades, posters, hula-hooping or jump roping to 100 contests as in the case with Loyd Elementary School.
Teachers at Ft. Rucker Elementary School incorporated graphing skills by rolling the dice 100 times and charting the results.
Dexter Elementary School does a similar activity charting gumballs.
Maxwell Elementary/Middle School kindergarten students celebrate the 100th day by counting to 100, doing math and writing activities and of course wearing sunglasses that have the number 100 on them!
At White Elementary, McBride Elementary, and Stowers Elementary Schools, teachers and students dress up as if they were 100 years old which prompted many discussions about how the world might change over 100 years or what they might be doing when they grow up.
Wilson Elementary School kindergarten classes hosted a fashion parade and each student created a shirt and poster that contained 100 items.
Fort Rucker Primary School ties in the 100th day by working on one if their school wide goals of problem solving. The faculty and students bring in food and supplies for the local community animal shelters. They collect, count by tens discuss the importance of zero and complete problems based on a three week event.
