The Make it in America Campaign is an effort to honor our country’s manufacturers and highlight the importance of U.S. manufacturing by showcasing the contributions of manufacturers nationwide. Every week we feature a MEP manufacturer “Making it in America”. These manufacturers from around the country are developing innovative products, reaching exciting markets and hiring America’s best workforce.

Make it in America Programs

MEP Programs such as Supplier Scouting, Next Generation Rail Supply Chain Connectivity and the USA National Innovation Marketplace provide the tools and connections American manufacturers need to continue to Make it in America.

MEP Make it in America Rail

The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) and U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC) recently formed a partnership to leverage agency capabilities to ensure the development of a domestic supply base to support intermodal transportation in the United States.

The objective of the Next Generation Rail Supply Chain Connectivity Forums is to attract U.S. manufacturers to the supply base for next generation rail equipment being procured in the U.S.  The Forums will facilitate connections between rail industry Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and a broader domestic supply base, to include both traditional and non-traditional rail suppliers.

This Forum represents an opportunity for manufacturers with capabilities that are potentially relevant to next generation rail to grow & diversify into this exciting emerging market.  Visit the Next Generation Rail Supply Chain webpage to learn more about the opportunities in the rail industry.

Reshoring Initiative

The move to reshore production has grown increasingly popular in the U.S. over the last few years in the face of higher transportation and fuel costs, higher wage rates and quality concerns in developing countries.

Visit the Reshoring webpage to learn more about the benefits and available tools for manufacturers.
