Visit the Sanctuary Visitor Center in Maui. Hours are Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. NEW! Starting in December, the visitor center will also be open on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Education materials and special programs are available.

Directions from the Kahului Airport:
Take Highway 380 W, turn left on Pu‘unene which turns into Highway 311, then turn left (South) on South Kihei Road to 726 S.

Directions From Lahaina:
Take Highway 30 to Ma‘alaea, turn right on Highway 31 N. Kihei Road, then turn right on South Kihei Road to 726 S. Kihei Road.

The Honolulu office of the sanctuary houses many of the sanctuary's administrative staff including the Sanctuary Superintendent. The office serves as the base of operations for the Sanctuary Ocean Count project and also serves as a venue for scheduled volunteer training, workshops, and meetings. Education and outreach materials are available.

Directions from Hanauma Bay and the Windward Side:
After passing Hanauma Bay, continue straight at the first traffic light. Go over the bridge and then turn right between the two buildings at Hawai‘i Kai Towne Center (on the left as soon as you turn will be Outback Steak House). Park in the lot on your left and walk into the courtyard between the bank and Roy's Restaurant. On your right, after you enter the courtyard, you will see an elevator. Take that to the third floor and you will see the sanctuary on the left hand side and the conference room ahead of you.

Directions from Town:
Take H-1 East until it turns into Kalanianaole Hwy. Continue straight (for over 4 miles) then turn left onto Keahole Street (the same street that takes you to Costco). Stay in the right lane, and take a right just past the Tesoro gas station. Turn right into the parking lot. You will see the Copy Shop ahead of you. Park in the lot and walk into the courtyard between the bank and Roy's restaurant. On your right, after you enter the courtyard, you will see an elevator. Take that to the third floor and you will see the sanctuary on the left hand side and the conference room ahead of you.

The sanctuary office in Lihue, Kauai, is a small office in a commercial office complex that serves as the base of operations for sanctuary programs on Kauai. The office also serves as a venue for scheduled volunteer training, workshops, and meetings. Education and outreach materials are available. Please call ahead to schedule a visit as staff are not always on site.

Directions from Lihue (Kaua`i) Airport
Exit Lihue Airport onto Ahukini Road (570) heading west until the intersection with Kuhio Highway (50). Turn left (west) on Kuhio Highway and drive for less than a mile until the intersection with Nawiliwili Road (58). This is in the vicinity of Taco Bell, Burger King and Kukui Grove (Shopping) Center. Turn left at the intersection, and turn left again at the first intersection (as if going to Burger King). The office is in brown building (Kukui Grove Executive Center) in the Taco Bell parking lot. The office is on the second floor; look for the sanctuary sign on the outside of the building. The office is located at the sign. The bulding is ADA compliant with elevators located nearby.

The sanctuary office in Kona, is a small office located at the Natural Energy Lab Hawaii Authority that serves as the base of operations for sanctuary programs on the Big Island. Please call ahead to schedule your visit as staff are not always on site.

Directions from the Airport:
Exit the airport by taking a right at the stoplight (towards Kona) onto the Queen Kaahumanu Hwy (19) and go approximately .5 miles to Otec Road (first available right hand turn after you leave the airport). Turn right on Otec Road into the gated complex. As you enter there will be a building with large solar panels on your left hand side. Continue down Otec Road (2 miles) and the road will end in the NELHA complex. Enter the complex and look for the sanctuary office in the first building on the left hand side (just north of the display area) third door on the right.

Directions from Kona:
Take Queen Kaahumanu Hwy (19) north toward the Keahole-Kona International Airport to Otec Road. Approximately 1.5 miles before the airport on the left hand side you will see a building with large solar panels on the left side of the road, turn left here into the gated complex. Continue down Otec Road (2 miles) and the road will end in the NELHA complex. Enter the complex and look for the sanctuary office in the first building on the left hand side (just north of the display area) third door on the right.

The state sanctuary office is located within the State of Hawaii Department of Land and Natural Resources in Honolulu.

Directions from Honolulu International Airport:
Upon exiting the airport take the H-1 interstate east toward Honolulu. From the H-1 take the Punchbowl Street exit (21B) and continue south on Punchbowl. The State Sanctuary office is located in the Kalanimoku Building located on the left just past the Beretania Street intersection. Public parking can be found in the basement level below the building in metered stalls.

Directions from Diamond Head:
Take the H-1 interstate west toward Honolulu. From the H-1 take the Vineyard Blvd. exit (22) and turn left on Punchbowl Street. The State Sanctuary office is located in the Kalanimoku Building located on the left just past the Beretania Street intersection. Public parking can be found in the basement level below the building in metered stalls.
