NIF Computing Applications Division (NIFC) The NIF Computing Applications Division provides software engineering and development expertise to NIF and Engineering projects. NIFC members are involved in all aspects of the NIF control system deployment, which includes: the design, development and testing of operator consoles; real-time controllers; IT support systems; shot control, configuration and databases; and a software framework that ties these components together. NIFC members support Engineering by designing, developing, and deploying institutional information management systems, including material tracking, engineering drawing configuration management, and several institutional databases.
