Georgia Department of Defense 2012 Annual Report

2012arcoverfp

Each year, every state agency in Georgia publishes an annual report for the Governor and state legislature. 2012 was yet another dynamic year for the organization, a year full of growth and excellence in mission accomplishment.

In this Annual Report, you can learn more about the organization and its mission, as well as the units themselves, and some specifics about the economic impact of the National Guard in Georgia. This report offers a unique sense of just how outstanding the 15,000 men and women of the Georgia Army National Guard, the Georgia Air National Guard and the Georgia State Defense Force are, and what they sacrifice every day for their state and country. | READ ON

January-February edition of the Georgia Guardsman magazine

january2013fp

This special two-month edition of the Georgia Guardsman features a cover story about the Georgia National Guard's support of the Atlanta Falcons NFC Divisional Playoff game. Atlanta has been busy with its support of the Guard recently, hosting "Guard Day" at the State Capitol to recognize members of the Georgia Department of Defense for their service to state and nation, and then the Atlanta Braves Caravan stopped by the Clay National Guard Center to visit some of the state's Citizen-Soldiers. The Georgia Guardsman is published monthly under the provisions of AR 360-81 and AF 6-1 by the Georgia Department of Defense Public Affairs Office. The views and opinions expressed in the Georgia Guardsman magazine are not necessarily those of the Departments of the Army or Air Force, or of the Adjutant General of Georgia. | READ ON

Adjutant General's Mission, Vision, Values and Priorities

Always Ready, Always There, Always on Target

The intent of this document is to provide guidance for, and direction to, the Georgia Department of Defense. One of Maj. Gen. Jim Butterworth's many goals is to achieve unity of effort. Through this document, leaders should begin communicating the organizational and personal priorities for the command as laid out by the Adjutant General of Georgia. This document is not intended to set goals or objectives, but rather to deliver, in broad terms, the Adjutant General's expectations of the Georgia Department of Defense.
