Ames Lab, Iowa State researchers study the structure of drug resistance in tuberculosis

A group of researchers led by Edward Yu, Ames Lab and Iowa State University scientist, has discovered the mechanism that allows drug resistant tuberculosis to defy treatment. The findings, published in the journal by the journal Nucleic Acids Research, a research team led by Yu describes the structure of a regulator that controls the expression of the multidrug efflux pump in Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
