Barrasso Statement on President Obama’s State of the Union Address

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator John Barrasso (R-Wyo.) delivered the following statement regarding President Obama’s State of the Union Address: “President Obama missed a clear opportunity to prove that he is focused on the economy and helping Americans find good jobs. Instead of announcing new taxpayer funded projects, he should have announced his support for the Keystone XL pipeline. “The people of Wyoming know better than to believe his promise that his new proposals won’t add a dime to the deficit. I agree with President Obama that we have to invest in the future – but it doesn’t have to be through expensive new government programs that burden our children and grandchildren with even more debt and make them pay higher taxes.
