  • Global Partnerships in the Fight against NTDs: An Untold Story of Success – 09/19/12

    September 19, USAID Administrator Dr. Raj Shah will join members of Congress and partners to hail historic progress, celebrate champions, and underscore continuing challenges in the global fight against diseases affecting the world’s poorest and most marginal populations.

  • The Next Frontier in NTD Control: Implementing the Roadmap from the London Declaration's 2020 Goals – 04/11/12
    Recently, a consortium of government development agencies, pharmaceutical companies, and funding organizations met in support of a new coordinated strategy designed by the World Health Organization to accelerate efforts to overcome the global impact of Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs). At this upcoming forum, a group of leading NTD experts will discuss the progress of NTD control programs and what comes next in order to reach the 2020 goals.

  • Uniting to Combat Neglected Tropical Diseases – 01/30/12
    On Monday, January 30th 2012, Bill Gates, Margaret Chan, 9 pharmaceutical company CEOs, senior government officials and others met on the topic of Uniting to Combat Neglected Tropical Diseases: Ending the Neglect and Reaching 2020 Goals. They announced a new, coordinated push to accelerate progress toward eliminating or controlling 10 neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) by the end of the decade.

  • 2008 Stakeholders Meeting on the NTD Program – 10/20/08-10/21/08
    In preparation for implementation of the Program, USAID convened a key stakeholders meeting on October 20-21, 2008 in Washington D.C. The meeting was co-hosted by USAID, the World Health Organization (WHO), and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Participants included representatives from U.S. Government agencies, Ministries of Health of disease endemic countries, pharmaceutical partners, the NTD scientific community, NGO implementation partners, and other donor partners.
