Lyndel Williams has served as Training Director of the Texas Association Against Sexual Assault (TAASA) since 2001. For the past 12 years he has trained on the following topics: sexual harassment, assault and rape risk reduction, sexual predators, acquaintance rape, drug facilitated sexual assault, psychopaths, sexual assault of the elderly and disabled, child and adolescent sexual assault issues, interviewing victims with communicative or cognitive disabilities and stalking/cyber stalking. Mr. Williams manages TAASA's training function, including the scheduling of all trainings, researching and writing training curricula, and supervision of staff trainers. He has more than 16 years' of experience working with the criminal justice systems of both Texas and Louisiana. Mr. Williams is a guest instructor at Texas Tech University's Institute for Forensic Sciences, as well as guest instructor at Texas State University's School of Forensic Psychology. He is a member of the International Law Enforcement Educators and Trainers Association. Texas Governor Rick Perry appointed Mr. Williams to the Governor's Criminal Justice Advisory Council. He received his B.A. in Psychology from Nicholls State University, is certified in Basic Crisis Intervention, is a Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officers Standards and Education certified instructor, and has completed the National College of District Attorneys Prosecution of Sexual Assault course.
