NMCB 5 Seabees Build, Teach and Learn at Aplaya Elementary School
PALAWAN, Philippines (Feb. 01, 2013) - New York City native utilities,
construction man Larry Cooper, assigned to Naval Mobile Construction
Battalion5 prepares 4th Grade students of Aplaya Elementary School
Puerto Princesa for their scheduled examination. Seabees of Civic
Construction Activity Detail (CCAD) Philippines are routinely asked by
the school principal to assist with English and Math classes at the
school where the job site is located. Seabees conduct CCAD operations
like this one in order to demonstrate U.S. commitment, develop
enduring relationships, improve public infrastructure for the delivery
of essential services, and strengthen local institutions with host and
