My legislative goals

Hello--

Over the past several weeks, I have begun to introduce my legislative agenda for the 113th Congress.

My broader focus will remain on policies that eliminate government waste, improve or remove regulations, promote innovation, and advocate for intellectual disabilities.

So far this Congress, I have introduced bills to undo a federal health policy that jeopardizes seniors’ access to pain medications, eliminate unutilized and ineffective elections programs, redesign transition supports for the disabled, and relieve businesses and consumers from an unattainable federal energy mandate.

Here’s a brief summary of each of these proposals:

•    H.R. 232 retroactively preserves Medicare’s decades-old reimbursement methodologies for compound pain medications.
•    H.R. 260 seeks to end taxpayer financing of presidential campaigns and eliminate the obsolete Election Assistance Commission (EAC).
•    H.R. 509, H.R. 510, and H.R. 511 collectively aim to redesign federal programs for individuals living with intellectual disabilities as they transition from secondary school to the workforce.
•    H.R. 550 requires the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to rely on actual industry production instead of bureaucratic predictions when calculating a mandate of the renewable fuel standard.

These goals are ambitious. And they will not be met without your help to raise awareness about the need for these critical government reforms.

Together, I believe that we can enact real reforms in Washington. Do you? If so, please consider forwarding this important message to your neighbors.

God Bless,

Gregg Harper
Member of Congress
