Crowley on the Passing of Former New York City Mayor Ed Koch

(Queens, N.Y.)Today, Rep. Joe Crowley (D-Queens, the Bronx), Vice Chair of the House Democratic Caucus, released the statement below on the passing of former New York City Mayor Ed Koch:

“Mayor Ed Koch was a proud public servant and a true champion for the people of New York. With fierce determination and leadership, he guided our city through one of the most difficult times in our history, and we emerged stronger because of it.

“Mayor Koch never once stopped fighting for the causes he believed in. I will miss his candor, his wit, and above all, his friendship. I join his family, friends, and the entire community in mourning the loss of one of New York’s great leaders.”

Congressman Crowley is the eight-term representative from the 14th Congressional District of New York, which includes sections of Queens and the Bronx. He is a member of the powerful Ways and Means Committee and serves as Vice Chair of the Democratic Caucus in the House of Representatives.
