OIG Careers
USAID Office of Inspector General employs auditors, program analysts, investigators, attorneys, and a range of support personnel in the fields of information technology, human capital, and financial and procurement management. Together, our staff provide oversight of U.S. foreign assistance programs and deter, detect, and respond to related fraud, waste, abuse, and mismanagement. OIG employees serve in either a Civil Service or Foreign Service capacity. While Civil Service employees are typically based in Washington, D.C., those hired into the Foreign Service can expect to spend the majority of their careers overseas, rotating between regional or country offices as well as the OIG’s headquarters. OIG has overseas offices in the following ten cities:
Foreign Service and Civil Service staff in Washington, D.C., hold positions in one of the OIG’s four Headquarters divisions: the Immediate Office, Office of Audit, Office of Investigations, or Office of Management. By joining the OIG, you can contribute to the success of USAID's role as the principal U.S. Agency extending assistance to foreign countries recovering from disasters, trying to escape poverty and engaging in democratic reforms. You will work in partnership with USAID and its development partners to minimize fraud, waste, and abuse in the worldwide programs and operations of USAID.
