Data are compiled from a variety of sources, including the Urban Institute, Brookings Institution, Internal Revenue Service, the Joint Committee on Taxation, the Congressional Budget Office, the Department of the Treasury, the Federation of Tax Administrators, and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.

  • Overview
    Information about the composition of taxes, distribution of tax burden, and changes in tax burden over time.
  • Individual
    Current individual income tax rate schedules and filing thresholds; statistics about individual income, deductions, and credits; and detailed information and parameters for the EITC, child credits, AMT, and marriage penalty relief provisions.
  • Low-Income
    Poverty thresholds and current and historical information about income and payroll taxes paid by low-income families.
  • High-Income
    Tables for the taxpayers with the top 400 adjusted gross income and taxfilers with income of at least $200,000.
