CUPERTINO, Calif. —

Firefighters extinguished a one-alarm fire at a cement plant in Cupertino Sunday morning, a Santa Clara County fire dispatcher said.

The fire was reported at about 5:45 a.m. at Lehigh Southwest Cement Plant, located at 24001 Stevens Creek Blvd., the dispatcher said.

Truck equipment and tires were believed to have been damaged in the blaze, the dispatcher said.

No one was injured, and the fire was under control at about 7:45 a.m.

According to the company that runs the cement plant, Lehigh Permanente, the company was not in operation at the time of the fire.

A small crew from the Santa Clara County Fire Department reportedly stayed on site after the fire to monitor the plant.

The cause was still under investigation Sunday afternoon. The Mine Safety and Health Administration was notified by Lehigh Permanente, and was expected to visit and evaluate the site, according to the company.

"Safety remains a priority at our facility and we'd like to thank the SCCFD for their quick and effective response this morning," said a statement from Lehigh Permanente. "We will provide updates as information becomes available."
