Denison women's basketball senior wing Sarah Perrine was named North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week after helping the Big Red to a perfect 2-0 mark on the week and keeping their conference mark unblemished at 4-0.

Basketball Games for Jan. 10 Postponed due to snow

The men's and women's basketball doubleheader, which was scheduled to be played at 1 and 3 p.m. in Granville on Saturday (Jan. 10), has been postponed due to the large amount of snow that hit the northern half of Ohio overnight.

The Denison women's swimming and diving squad returned to the pool on Friday night in Athens, Ohio. Despite five, first-place finishes the Big Red would go on to suffer a 171-121 loss to the Division I Ohio University Bobcats.

The postseason awards for senior women's soccer player Sara Ash (Cincinnati, Ohio/Sycamore) continue to roll in. The National Soccer Coaches Association of America has named Ash to its Women's College Scholar All-America squad for her achievement in classroom and on the pitch.

Knobel to speak at NCAA Convention

Denison President Dale Knobel will be a featured panelist for an educational session during the 2009 NCAA Convention at the Gaylord National Convention Center in Washington, D.C., taking place Jan. 14-17.

Knobel, will participate in “Academics, Athletics and Today’s Sports Culture, Expectations and Realities” on Thursday, Jan. 15.

The Denison University Athletics will make their return to the airwaves on Wednesday (Jan. 21) at 7:30 p.m. when the Denison men's basketball team hosts The College of Wooster. The match-up between the Big Red and the Fighting Scots will kick off a winter schedule of eight broadcasted home basketball games through TEAMLINE.  A complete winter broadcast schedule can be viewed here
