The Lanigan and Malone Show is co-hosted by John Lanigan and Jimmy Malone. The two have been on the air together in some capacity for 24 years and continue to be a market leader.
John is approaching 40 years on the air in Cleveland, having started in Cleveland at WGAR in 1970. John has been a fixture at WMJI since 1985. He is best known for his ability to interview the famous, and not so famous. From politicians to athletes to entertainers to authors, John has talked to them all. Lanigan is a part of the fabric of the Cleveland community, having done both radio and television in the last 40 years. John is originally from Ogallala, Nebraska where his first job was with the high school radio station.
John's co-host is Jimmy Malone, a native of Cleveland. Prior to joining WMJI part-time in 1985 and full-time in 1991, Jimmy was a regular on the comedy club circuit in Cleveland. Jimmy's act featured stories from the newspaper he called "Knuckleheads in the News."� John liked the bit and invited Jimmy one night to join him in the studio "some morning."� Eventually he did and 24 years later, not only are John and Jimmy still together, but "Knuckleheads in the News"� is still a Thursday feature on the show, and the two have produced several "Knuckleheads"� CDs.
Jimmy still performs some stand-up around town, and considers himself "the voice of reason"� on the show. Jimmy's annual charity golf tournament has raised over a million dollars to provide scholarships to area Cleveland kids to attend college.
