Plan Your Visit: January Blooms and High Line Art

January is a great time to visit the park. In keeping with Piet Oudolf’s vision, plants are left intact through the winter, rather than trimmed back as temperatures drop. This month you'll see winter blooms, like fragrant wintersweet pictured at right, set against dried grasses and seed heads from the past growing season.

It's also the perfect time to check out current High Line Art installations, including a monumental sculpture by Nigeria-based artist El Anatsui, installed on a wall next to the High Line between West 21st and West 22nd Streets.

Download our January Bloom List, a free printable guide with names and full-color photographs to help you identify plants during your next visit, and the High Line Art Map, featuring all the commissions currently on-view.
