Inc. We're an organization of mothers who have
lost a son or daughter in the service of our
country.
If you're a member of the public, we participate
in many memorial events around the country and
you're welcome to join us.
If you've lost your child in the service
of the country and would like the community
of others in your situation, we invite you to
join us. No one knows how you feel like
another mother who has lost a child.

AGSM
is partnering with the Center
for the Study of Traumatic
Stress which will collect data
for a new 5-year study of the
impact of a U.S. service member
death on surviving family
members.
A documentary
film chronicling the lives of
American Gold Star Mothers. This
is a story about what it means
to lose a child who serves his
or her country.

MI and ME have recently passed legislation
for a
Gold Star Family license plate.
DC has had no
action on legislation. Even Guam
has GS plate. If you live in
DC contact your local
legislator and support this
legislation. If you don't live
in DC contact your federal
legislators and urge them to
support this effort.
"Be it resolved,
that since the District of
Columbia is the only
jurisdiction in the United
States that does not offer a
Gold Star Family license plate,
it is further resolved that
American Gold Star Mothers, Inc,
supports a Gold Star Family
license plate for the District
of Columbia and this shall be
accomplished promptly."
The statue, the
central element of the memorial
was designed by
Andrew Chernak. Dedication
set for Sunday, May 1, 2011, in
Stanton Plaza, on Elm Street
across from Veterans Park,
Manchester, NH.
