Afghan women at the Kapisa Midwife Education Center conduct hands-on training on how to perform an episiotomy, a surgical procedure used to aid in child birth. The 24-month Kapisa Community Midwife Education Program is funded by the Kapisa Provincial Reconstruction Team, and upon graduation, the midwives will assist expectant mothers and provide women’s healthcare education.
