Rep. Tom Reed, who was sworn in January 3, 2013 to represent New York’s 23rd Congressional District, will hold his first four town halls in the newly-drawn district this Saturday, January 12th in Cattaraugus and Chautauqua counties.
“The conversations we have at these public town halls are central to representing our district and I always welcome the conversation – the topics are up to residents,” Reed said. “With this new district, we will continue to hold these open, face-to-face discussions to answer questions, listen to concerns and gather input.”
During Reed’s two-year term as Congressman for the 29th District, he held more than 75 public town hall meetings, and has pledged to do the same in the 23rd District.
Town halls will be held Saturday as follows:
8:00AM Hanover Town Hall, 68 Hanover Street, Silver Creek
10:30AM Westfield Village Hall, 23 Elm Street, Westfield
1:00PM Carroll Town Hall, 5 West Main Street, Frewsburg
3:30PM Olean Public Library, 134 North 2nd Street, Olean
Those unable to attend the town halls are encouraged to share their thoughts with Reed through his website (www.Reed.house.gov) or on Facebook at www.Facebook.com/RepTomReed. Individuals can also sign up for regular e-updates through Reed’s website (www.Reed.house.gov/contact-me/newsletter).
The newly-drawn 23rd District includes the counties of Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Chemung, Ontario, Schuyler, Seneca, Steuben, Tioga, Tompkins and Yates.
