Summary | The collection consists of manuscript materials, sound recordings, photographs, and moving images documenting the performance of bluegrass music, klezmer music, Hungarian folk dance and music, Piedmont blues music, gospel music, and Afro-Cuban music and dance recorded live outdoors on Neptune Plaza in front of the Thomas Jefferson Building, Library of Congress, at concerts from April through September 1990, sponsored by the American Folklife Center and the National Council for the Traditional Arts. Concerts were recorded for broadcast on WAMU-FM, hosted by Dick Spottswood. Manuscripts include some correspondence and program flyers autographed by the performers. On May 17, Henry Sapoznik was interviewed by Alan Jabbour; Karen Jabbour, Lee Ellen Friedland, and David A. Taylor were present at the interview. |
