The Caps’ home opener maybe wasn’t the world’s biggest success, on the ice, at least.
But, among other highlights, fans seemed to get a pretty good kick out of the pre-game National Anthem, which was a duet between longtime singers Caleb Green and Bob McDonald. My colleague Benjamin Sumner reports that this was the first time Green and McDonald had done such a duet at a Caps game, although they’ve performed it in a quartet, and done the duet at a Hershey Bears game.
The anthem was shown before Comcast SportsNet’s game coverage, and the social media response was strong.
If you ask me, @bobinarlington & Caleb Green singing the anthem together is the best possible option for the #Caps home opener.
