It’s been six months since we locked the door on 15 East 4th Street for the last time, and far too much has happened to all of us to try to catch up here.       Other Music Alum at Brooklyn Flea Record Fair

       Hey Other Music family! If you are NYC-based, we’re betting you might be visiting the Brooklyn Flea Record Fair tomorrow, and if you do, along with all the other great vendors, look out for the Other Music alum table! Chris, Josh and Ryan will all be there, digging into their personal collections and  selling some great rare LPs and 45s, as well as a MASSIVE collection of awesome (and CHEAP!) used CDs and CD box sets, plus some Other Music merch.       Thank You, Friends


      Last night we locked the door for good on 15 E. 4th St., and for the first time in months I feel like I have a moment to think. These past few weeks have been a blur, and the last 7 day have been truly overwhelming in every way, but also some of the most beautiful and inspirational of my life. I’m a long way off from really processing the last 20 years we have spent together, but I wanted to pause and thank all of you once more for the years of support and inspiration you gave us. The outpouring of love we have felt here since we announced our closing was somewhat unexpected, and completely incredible, and confirmed for me that it was the passion and creativity of everyone in the wider Other Music family that held that place together for the last 20 years. Thank you to two decades of staff, artists, labels, distributors, and everyone — most of all to the passionate music fans who made Other Music possible. I’m not entirely sure Alex Chilton was being sincere when he wrote these words, but we are —  "Thank you friends, we wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for you, we’re so grateful for all the things you helped us do.”  Thank you from Other Music, with deep love and gratitude. We will meet again!
