KEATING STATEMENT ON LUBCHENCO RESIGNATION

Washington, DC – Below is Rep. Bill Keating’s response to Administrator Jane Lubchenco’s announcement that she will be leaving as head of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) at the end of February.

“NOAA will soon have an opportunity under new leadership to dramatically improve communication, flexibility, and most importantly, trust with the fishing community.  I look forward to this new era where we begin to implement better science and fairer catch limits, starting with an end-to-end review of the stock assessment process.”
