Marines with the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) debrief John Postel, director of response for the Office of Emergency Management at Staten Island, N.Y., Nov. 10, 2012. During the debrief, the Marines explained to them current information regarding the hurricane relief efforts regarding Hurricane Sandy. The 26th MEU has been in constant support of the victims of the hurricane. The 26th MEU operates continuously across the globe, providing the president and unified combatant commanders with a forward-deployed, sea-based quick reaction force. The MEU is a Marine Air-Ground Task Force capable of conducting amphibious operations, crisis response, and limited contingency operations. They are slated to deploy in 2013.
