Santa Fe, NM – Congressman Ben Ray Luján of New Mexico’s Third District announced today that he worked to bring home more than $1 million during the last year as a result of his commitment to constituent services.  Assisting New Mexico residents with Social Security benefits, veterans’ services, and other federal programs is a priority for Luján, who has helped thousands of constituents successfully navigate the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Social Security Administration, and other federal agencies.

“I have traveled across the district meeting with the people I am honored to represent and serve in Congress.  Throughout that process, we have had an opportunity to help our friends and neighbors in dealing with the federal government,” Congressman Luján said.  “Whether it’s securing the VA benefits that a veteran has earned through brave service, or ensuring a senior gets the Social Security benefits he or she has paid into, our commitment to serving our constituents has ensured many New Mexicans receive the help they need and have someone fighting on their side.”

Luján and his staff hold open office hours, mobile office hours, and Congress on Your Corner events across Northern New Mexico, making these services accessible to every corner of the expansive Third District.  During these events, Congressman Luján and his staff are available to assist constituents with casework who may not have the ability or time to travel to one of the six district offices located in Santa Fe, Gallup, Farmington, Las Vegas, Rio Rancho, and Tucumcari.

In total, Congressman Luján has brought back just over $1,078,000 to New Mexicans through casework in 2012.  Constituents in need of assistance can contact the Santa Fe office at (505) 984-8950 to find out the nearest office that can provide assistance.  Information on upcoming events, such as open office hours or mobile office hours, can be found on Luján’s website, www.lujan.house.gov, and Facebook page, www.facebook.com/RepBenRayLujan.
