USAFA Cadets ran from Peterson AFB to the United States Air Force Academy to commemorate 9/11 and POW/MIA week. The 45 mile run involved over 200 cadets in teams of 5 running approximately 1 mile. Teams carried a specially-designed baton. The run culminated in a 39 hour run to symbolize the 39th anniversary of the Vietnam-era Operation Homecoming, repatriating prisoners of war. At the end of the run more than 3500 cadets participated in a retreat ceremony. Interviews include Cadet First Class (C1C) Daniel Zotto, Fall Cadet Wing Commander, C1C Tre' Lowman, Fall Cadet Vice Wing Commander, and Brig. Gen. Gregory Lengyel, Commandant of Cadets. The run took place 13-15 September 2012
